Gastro tour at Āgenskalns Market

Every Thursday at 11:00

During the tour, you will explore Āgenskalns Market and its cultural heritage while tasting seasonal products – cheeses from small producers, freshly baked bread, smoked meat, vegetables, fish, ice cream, and beverages brewed in Latvia.

Āgenskalns Market is one of the most distinctive food spaces in the Baltics today – a historic market in Riga that has been carefully restored and reimagined, where traditional trading continues alongside a contemporary food culture.

The Gastro tour includes:

– 7 tastings from carefully selected vendors (vegetarian options available)

– A 1-hour guided tour in English (or Latvian), with stories about Latvian traditions, eating habits, and everyday life

– Conversations with vendors and insight into how local products are made

Price: 35 EUR
 Duration: 60 minutes

Group size: 3–12 persons.
Free for children under 6

Schedule: Thursdays at 11:00 or upon request

Meeting point: Main entrance of Āgenskalns Market (corner of Nometņu and Bāriņu streets)

The tour is designed for international guests and can be adapted for local audiences in Latvia and across the Baltics.

Please note: Tickets are no longer available for purchase 3 hours before the event.

Great tour with plenty of snacks along the way. A clearer meeting point would be appreciated as well as more time to finish the tasters 🥹

Just had this tour. It was very well put together! I loved the order of the tastings, and it wasn’t too long or too short. Very kind and informative...

An excellent tour and introduction to some Latvian history and cuisine. An hour tour is very much worth a stop with lots of snacks throughout.
